How can I add my home to the listing list?

Hello, Alexis. In order to get your home listed in the MLS you should contact a Realtor of your choice. The agent will help you with the listing. You will need to sign a listing agreement with him/her. That agent will become your right hand in your efforts to sell your home. He/she will guide you with the process and answer your questions. Should you decide to enroll my assistance, please feel free to message or call me at 832-422-7846. I wish you the best of luck.

Which step should come first, finding an agent or finding a lender?

Hello Christine,\nYou may look for both simultaneously. And this is why, your Realtor often may refer you to a lending officer. The Realtor also can provide you with information about current market conditions. However, I would strongly advise that BEFORE you start actively searching for a new home, sit down with your lending specialist and discuss your financial options. At a minimum, get pre-qualified. This will give you a pretty good idea whether you are in a position to purchase a house and how much $ you may get the approval for. Sometimes a small detail in your financial history may ruin months of house hunt. So work closely with your financing specialist. Your Realtor will help you find the house you need based on your requirements AND your individualized financial assumptions.\nHope this helps.\n

Not a question but a followup to a question I asked about the legality of kicking out a family that had been peacefully occupying a 2br condo and paying rent on time:

By Texas law, the maximum number of ADULTS permitted to occupy an apartment is three times the number of bedrooms. So, a two-bedroom apartment may house up to six adults over the age of 18. The only exception is a situation in which someone is seeking temporary sanctuary from domestic violence. Here is the excerpt:\nTexas Property Code Sec. 92.010 Occupancy Limits:\n(a)Except as provided by Subsection (b), the maximum number of adults that a landlord may allow to occupy a dwelling is three times the number of bedrooms in the dwelling.\n(b)A landlord may allow an occupancy rate of more than three adult tenants per bedroom:\n(1)to the extent that the landlord is required by a state or federal fair housing law to allow a higher occupancy rate; or\n(2)if an adult whose occupancy causes a violation of Subsection (a) is seeking temporary sanctuary from family violence, as defined by Section 71.004 (Family Violence), Family Code, for a period that does not exceed one month.\nHope this helps.
